Centre vs States

The Tribune

Some southern states in India, like Karnataka and Kerala, are unhappy with the government's budget. They think they're not getting enough money compared to other states, even though they control their population well. They're upset about a special formula used to divide the money and the fact they get less of what they put into the national pot. They're protesting and might even sue the government! This could make things tense and spark a debate about how to share money fairly across the country. Basically, some states feel left out and want a bigger slice of the financial pie.

US buys more from Mexico than China

Stock Image

Imagine a race where countries send things to America instead of athletes. Last year, for the first time in 20 years, Mexico won the gold medal! They sent more stuff to America than even China, which used to be the champ.

There are two reasons for this:

  1. China got more expensive. Trade fights with America (remember the tariffs?) made Chinese stuff costlier, and China itself got richer, meaning workers needed more pay.

  2. Mexico got more attractive. Companies making things for America liked that Mexico was closer and cheaper, so they moved their factories there.

So, even though China isn't doing badly, Mexico's star is shining brighter in the trade world!
